How to measure a digital success?

e-Governance Conference looks at how to measure digital success and its contribution to sustainable development goals. Marit Lani, eGA and Minerva Novero, UNDP present digital transformation tool for accelerating SDG achievement in one of the first day’s parallel sessions.

New technologies are transforming economies and societies across the globe. The prospects of many economies and societies will depend on how effectively governments and stakeholders respond to technological trends. Digital transformation is a huge opportunity for our future aspirations of shared prosperity, durable peace and sustainable planet, as laid out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. However, there is a lack of models, tools and support, which would help integrate digital transformation to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

UNDP, the Government of Estonia and e-Governance Academy have joined forces to support digital transformation as a sustainable development pathway. The partnership will create a digital transformation tool, which countries or cities can apply to review their roadmaps and identify areas where digital approaches can help accelerate the progress of SDG achievement. If no such strategic plans exist yet, the tool could be used to assist the development of a digital transformation roadmap. The workshop during the e-Governance Conference will introduce the Estonia-UNDP cooperation, and provide an opportunity to present and discuss the digital transformation tool that is currently being developed.
